Counseling, Coaching, and Psychoeducation for Expatriates
At New Bridge Worldwide (NBW), we offer clients the opportunity to tackle the issues that are preventing them from moving forward in their new host country. We work with individuals, couples, families and groups, virtually or in person and we encourage clients to examine what it is they want to gain and what might be preventing them from getting there.
Our Mission
To enhance our clients’ capacity for
healthy adaptation to their expat life.
Our Vision
For expatriates to achieve their potential
to lead fulfilling lives abroad and at home.
Counseling
In counseling, challenges and/or difficult feelings are discussed within a safe and confidential relationship with a counselor or coach. The aim is to resolve a problem, bring about a desired change, or enhance the quality of one’s experience of life. More specifically, in counseling we support you to cope with your current life situations, including:
- Emotional
- Vocational
- Relationship
- Educational
- Rehabilitation or life-stage problems
- Decision-making
- Coping with crisis
- Working on your relationships
- Exploring your beliefs and feelings.
We believe that as individuals, you possess the resources to solve your own challenges. In line with this, our role is to facilitate progress in ways that respect your values, personal resources, and capacity to set your own goals.
Personal Coaching
Personal Coaching is a process whereby the coach and client agree on the goals and objectives to bring about a desired change. Coaches are adept at helping clients clarify goals, take action, make healthy decisions and capitalize on their strengths. Coaches listen, make suggestions, and help clients explore new ways of thinking. Coaches use inquiry, reflection and exploration to help clients achieve the outcome they are looking for. Coaches are non-judgmental in their approach and encourage clients to think and act in a new way.
Executive coaching
Executive, or leadership, coaching is a process of focused conversation in which the coach helps you discover different perspectives and find new solutions to professional challenges. The coach asks questions that lead you to insights you might not otherwise find on your own. The coaching conversations help you formulate strategies to reach goals and develop yourself to be more effective, both personally and professionally. This kind of coaching works well if you are in a work environment and are dealing with challenges or if you have specific professional goals you are trying to achieve. The coach helps you understand your current competencies, see how you’re perceived by others, and focus on identifying and clarifying current goals as well as the appropriate action steps to reach those goals.
Psychoeducation
Psychoeducation is education about a certain situation or condition that causes psychological stress. This is not necessarily psychotherapy as it does not exclusively deal with psychological or mental illness, but rather any condition someone is experiencing. It can be presented in the form of a lecture, presentation, workshop, conference, consultation, training, or as reading material separately or as an addition to another event or a topic.
